Privacy Policy
AVRA is an early-stage project. This document describes current practice honestly and will be reviewed by a qualified legal advisor before a public app-store release. If you have a question about anything here, please write to us.
Who we are
AVRA is an early-stage digital safety project for women and girls, currently led by its founder and distributed as an Android prototype (APK) for demonstration, testing and feedback. Questions about privacy can be sent to hello@example.com.
This website
This website is a static site. It does not create accounts, does not use advertising, and does not use analytics or tracking cookies.
- Preferences. Your chosen language and colour theme are stored in your browser using local storage. They never leave your device and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.
- Forms. The contact, access-request and feedback forms do not send anything to a server. They prepare a message in your own email application, which you then choose to send. Nothing is stored on this website.
- Hosting logs. The hosting provider serving this site may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and requested page) for security and reliability. These logs are controlled by the hosting provider and are not used by AVRA for profiling.
- Fonts and scripts. All fonts and scripts are served from this website itself, so loading a page does not send a request to a third-party content network.
The AVRA prototype application
The Android prototype is testing software. It may process the following information when you use the related feature:
- Location — used for Smart Walk journey planning and the safety map while the feature is active.
- Trusted contacts — names and contact details you add yourself so a journey can be shared with them.
- Account and profile information — the details you enter to use community features.
- Content you create — notes, messages, voice messages, reactions and learning progress.
- Technical information — basic device and error information used to fix problems during testing.
Because AVRA is a prototype, please do not store information in it that you could not afford to lose or would not want seen by a tester or developer during debugging. Data handling, accounts and backend infrastructure are still under development.
How information is used
Information is used only to provide the feature you are using, to fix problems, and to improve the product before a public release. AVRA does not sell personal data, does not use it for advertising, and does not build advertising profiles.
Sharing and third parties
Journey information is shared only with the trusted contacts you choose. Technical service providers (for example hosting or cloud infrastructure) may process data on AVRA's behalf in order to run the service. Information may also be disclosed if required by applicable law.
Retention and security
AVRA aims to collect as little as possible and to keep it only as long as the feature requires. Security measures are being strengthened as part of the roadmap, including a dedicated privacy and security review before public release. No system can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure, and this is especially true of prototype software.
Your rights
You can ask what information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or withdraw consent for future contact. Write to hello@example.com and we will respond as quickly as we reasonably can.
Age
Prototype testing is intended for people aged 16 and over. Younger users should take part only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
